The Dumai City PII International Seminar and Muscab session took place this morning featuring speakers from the Central PII, Executive Director of the Indonesian Engineers Association Ir Habibie Razak, Chairman of the FIM PII Riau Region Ir. Ulul Azmi, IPM and Head of Professional Engineer Program Study Program, Dr. Ir. Manyuk Fauzi, IPM.

Ir. Habibie Razak said that according to the mandate of Law 11/2014, not only Indonesian Engineers who practice engineering are required to have an Engineering Practice Permit (STRI) but this also applies to Foreign Engineers who work and practice engineering in Indonesia.

This was stated in front of 2 foreign engineers who attended this seminar. Both of them are engineers from Korea who work in Indonesia in the Pertamina Refinery operations area in Dumai.

Chairman of PII Dumai Branch, Ir. Rahmat Fauzi, MBA., IPM reported that over the last 3 years there has been an increase in the number of Professional Engineers/Ordinary PII Members from 25 Engineers to at least 101 Engineers.

PII Dumai City is strengthening by holding various technical events through seminars and webinars during this management period.

Ir Habibie Razak emphasized how important the role of Indonesian Engineers is in the success of Indonesia's 3 important milestones, namely making Indonesia 4.0 in 2030, golden Indonesia in 2045 and NZE in 2060.

Strengthening engineering competencies through sustainable professionalism programs (PKB) must continue to be intensified. PII gave an example of activities recently carried out in collaboration between Pertagas Rokan, Zekindo and PII for the implementation of oilfield chemical training which consisted of training sessions, laboratory visits and industrial plant visits.

Participants in this International Seminar were Engineers who work in the oil and refinery industry sector such as Pertagas, Pertamina International Refinery, Patra SK (joint venture between KPI & SK) Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR), ASN with engineering backgrounds and students( i) engineering from several universities.
