About PII
The Institution of Engineers Indonesia (PII) is a professional organization representing engineers in Indonesia. Established on May 23, 1952, PII serves as a platform for engineers from various engineering disciplines to collaborate, develop expertise, and contribute to national development.
PII was founded by Indonesian engineers who wanted to form an organization that could gather and fight for the interests of engineers in Indonesia's post-independence development process. At that time, engineers had a strategic role in infrastructure development and technology development needed by the newly independent country.
Since the beginning, PII has been actively involved in various national development activities, including in infrastructure projects, industrial development, and technology capacity building. PII also plays a role in promoting the use of technology in various sectors, both government and private.
Currently, PII has 27 engineering college, 4 permanent bodies consisting of Independent Accreditation Body (LAM Teknik) for National Engineering Education Accreditation, Indonesian Accreditation Body for Engineering Education (IABEE), Forum of Women Engineers (FPI PII) & Forum of Young Engineers (FIM PII), Center for Engineering and Industrial Policies Study (CEIPS), and for daily operations the PII Executive Board is supported by the Secretariat Executive Board led by an Executive Director who is responsible to the Secretary General of PII. PII has 24 regions at the provincial level and more than 225 branches at the district and city levels.
