Finally 200 Engineers in Maluku Join PII: Encourage Their Role in Regional Development

Around 200 engineers in Maluku Province now have an official forum with the formation of the Regional Management of the Indonesian Engineers Association (PII) Maluku.

This organization also has two branch administrators in Ambon City and Central Maluku Regency, the result of the PII Maluku Simultaneous Deliberation which took place at The City Hotel, Monday (18/11).

This deliberation was initiated by 72 Bachelor of Engineering and Engineers, active members of PII, out of a total of 200 members registered at PII Central. Chief Organizer, Dr. Enrico R. Mattitaputty, ST., M.Tech, called this formation an important step to support engineers in Maluku who previously did not have a supervisory organization at the provincial or district/city level.

The results of the deliberation determined that Dr. Ariviana L. Kakerissa, ST., MT., IPU., ASEAN Eng. as Chair of the PII Maluku Regional Management (PW).

Meanwhile, Lory Marcus Parera, S.T., M.T., IPU, ACPE, was elected to lead the Ambon City Branch Management (PC), and Ir. Deny Ismail Pellu, ST, MT, IPP leads the Central Maluku Regency PC.

The Panca Karya Dharma Program, the work direction of PII Maluku, includes strengthening the organization, increasing the number of members, and encouraging engineers to be registered as holders of Engineer Registration Certificates (STRI).

Chairman of PW PII Maluku, Ariviana, emphasized his commitment to bringing this organization to make a real contribution to regional development.

“Maluku has great potential in the marine and fisheries sector. "PII must be a catalyst for technological innovation and sustainable development through professionalism and science," he said.

The General Chairperson of PII, through his representative Dr. Ir. Eden Gunawan, MM, IPU, ASEAN Eng, hopes that PII Maluku can become a barometer of engineering in Eastern Indonesia. Pattimura University itself has been one of the universities providing the Professional Engineer Program since 2016.

With this new management, it is hoped that the realization of the Professional Engineer Program in Maluku will be closer.

"This is a big challenge for Unpatti to make it happen," said the deliberation facilitator, Ir. Bambang P. Soediro, ST, MT, MKN, IPU, ASEAN Eng., ACPE, APEC Eng.

The formation of PII Maluku is an important momentum to increase the role of engineers in providing added value to the abundant natural resources in this region.
