Commemorating the 73rd PII Anniversary, PII Riau Region Performs 730 Trees Planting

In commemoration of the 73rd Anniversary The Institution of Engineers Indonesia (PII), PII Riau Region together with PII Kampar Branch carried out symbolic planting activities of 730 tree seedlings within the Kampar Polytechnic.

Carrying the theme "Caring for Tuah, Maintaining Marwah" is a tangible manifestation of the contribution of engineers to environmental preservation and sustainable development, and attended by the Riau Regional Government and national figure Bung Rocky Gerung.

Representing the Governor of Riau, H. Abdul Wahid, M.Sc, Head of the Riau Province PUPRPKPP Construction Services Division, Wahyu Anugrah, ST, expressed his appreciation for PII's initiative. He considered this activity to reflect the noble values ​​of the profession of the synibility based on social responsibility and sustainability. The Riau Provincial Government is ready to work together with PII in realizing environmentally friendly development.

Meanwhile, Deputy Regent of Kampar, Hj. Misharti, said that Kampar Regency welcomed this activity as a form of cross -sector collaboration.

He said that tree planting is a long -term ecological investment and reflects the love of future generations.

In this activity, Rocky Gerung delivered a national speech entitled "Ethics vs. Environment: The Role of Engineers in the Vortex of Development". He stressed that the environmental crisis is basically an ethical crisis.

According to him, engineers have a moral responsibility to maintain a balance between technology and sustainability. He said that development without ethics would give birth to fragile civilizations.

Reflection on the value of the synergy

Simultaneously, Chairman of the Riau Region PII, Ir. Ulul Azmi, ST., CST., IPM., ASEAN Eng., Said this activity was a reflection of the values ​​of the engineering profession. He reminded the spirit of PII's first chairman, Ir. Djuanda Kartawidjaja, who is not only known as a visionary engineer, but also as a statesman initiated the Djuanda Declaration.

This spirit, explained Ulul Azmi, must be an inspiration for today's engineers in protecting nature and building the nation.

Ulul Azmi expressed his gratitude to all stakeholders, forkopimda, government agencies, universities, professional organizations, and other strategic partners who have fully supported the implementation of this activity.

According to him, the synergy that is built becomes an important force to encourage the actions of dynasties that have a broad impact on the community and the environment.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Kampar Branch PII and Director of the Kampar Polytechnic, Ir. Nina Veronika, ST., M.Sc, said that the campus as a center for technical education must be a space for the birth of engineers who are not only technically intelligent, but also aware of ethics and care for the issues of sustainability. He hopes this activity can become a sustainable movement that lives in the culture of organizations and society.

Also attending the activity was the Head of the Kampar Sapta Putra District Prosecutor's Office, Representative of Riau Police Chief Commissioner Pol Raswin Bacthiar Sirait, Representative Danrem 031/WB Colonel Inf Winarno, Head of the Regional BPJS Employment Regional Office, Riau, and Riau Islands, Forkopimda Elements, Academics, Community Leaders, students, and hundreds of other participants.

Commemoration of the 73rd Anniversary of PII in Kampar is a reminder that Indonesian engineers are not only physical development actors, but also ethical guards, environmental protectors, and sustainable civilization pillars.
