SILANEWS-Deputy for Strengthening of National Values of Lemhannas RI held the Opening Ceremony of Strengthening of National Values for Indonesian Engineers Association (PII) Batch II in Pancasila Room, Lemhannas RI, on Monday (26/8).

The activity raised the theme “The Role of Engineers in National Development: Maintaining Integrity and Quality for National Progress Based on National Character”.

The event was officially opened by the Principal Secretary (Sestama) of Lemhannas RI, Commissioner General of Police Drs. R. Z. Panca Putra S., M.Si. In his remarks, Panca Putra expressed his appreciation to PII for entrusting and collaborating with Lemhannas RI to refresh national values.

Panca Putra said that the development of Indonesia's strategic environment in the field of engineering plays an important role in preparing the nation towards the Golden Indonesia 2045. With the rapid advancement of technology and infrastructure, Indonesia is faced with great challenges and opportunities in strengthening national values.

The utilization of technology not only affects the economic sector, but also contributes to building collective awareness of the importance of nationhood in the digital era. “In facing the era of industrial revolution 4.0, national values are key to ensuring that technological advancements do not undermine national identity, but rather strengthen it,” said Panca Putra.

Along with technical development and innovation in various sectors, an understanding of national values must be integrated into every aspect of development. This is important so that Indonesia can utilize technology for national interests without losing its identity.

Furthermore, Panca Putra said that in welcoming the Golden Indonesia 2045, there needs to be a synergy between technical development and the cultivation of national values so that this nation is ready to face global challenges while maintaining national integrity and sovereignty.

For this reason, the presence of PII as a forum for the gathering of the nation's best sons and daughters in the field of engineering to Lemhannas RI is very appropriate to refresh and improve understanding related to national values derived from the four basic consensus of the nation.

In addition, the presence of PII in Lemhannas RI is also an effort and a form of moral responsibility in overcoming various national problems, one of which is the optimization of the network owned by PII to become a government partner in realizing the ideals and goals of national development.

“It is hoped that all of you will be able to be more optimal in making a positive contribution to solving national problems that always prioritize the interests of the nation and state above personal or group interests,” said Panca Putra.

The Strengthening of National Values activity for PII will last for 7 days, starting from August 26, 2024 to September 1, 2024, attended by 102 participants. Also present from PII were PII General Chairman Dr. Ir. Danis Hidayat Sumadilaga, M.Eng.Sc., IPU and PII Secretary General Ir. Santhi Serad, M.Sc.
