Construction Media – The Riau Islands Regional Management of The Institution of Engineers Indonesia (PII) held a management inauguration as well as a seminar on the role of engineers in carbon emissions reduction. The inauguration was held at the Batam Institute of Technology (ITEBA) Auditorium, Batam Island, 27 July 2024.

The inauguration was also attended by the PII Central Management, namely the Secretary General of PII Ir. Bambang Goeritno and Executive Director Ir. Habibi Razak, Representative of the Governor of Riau Islands Drs. Sardison, Representative of Batam Mayor Ir. Wiratmoko, Chairman of REI Batam, Perkindo Kepri, Chancellor of several universities in Batam and PII Branch Managers throughout KEPRI Province.

The event began with the reading of the PII KEPRI PW Management Decree for the 2024 -2027 Period by the Executive Director of PII Ir. Habibi Razak, and continued with the reading of the management oath commanded by the Secretary General of PII Ir. Bambang Goeritno. Ir. Mulia Pamadi as the elected chairman through MusWil Riau Islands at the beginning of last June led the Riau Islands engineers to receive a decree signed by the PII General Secretary directly from the PII General Secretary Ir. Bambang Goeritno.

The event then continued with the launch of the Kepri Book Engineering Directory 2024, a book about the introduction to the background of the Riau Islands Province, the background to the founding of The Institution of Engineers Indonesia and the Data Base of Engineers who practice engineering in the Province Riau Islands.

Ir. Mulia Pamadi said that "The inauguration of PW PII Kepri was indeed late, because we were waiting for the completion of the KED 2024 book with the aim that industrial, academic and government people who were present at this inauguration would gain insight into Engineering in Riau Islands through this book." The book, which contains 213 pages, received a positive response from the audience who attended directly and the representatives who attended signed their names as an official symbol of the launch of KED 2024.

After that, the event continued with the PW PII Kepri Award to the people- engineering people who have supported the activities of The Institution of Engineers Indonesia Riau Islands Regional Management, one of whom received the AWARD is Dr. Aswandy is also the author of the KED 2024 book.

The inauguration event closed with an engineering seminar by the Executive Director Ir. Habibi Razak entitled "Enhancing Sustainability In Indonesia's Infrastructure Development".

In his presentation Ir. Habibi Razak provided insight that PII as a professional engineering organization is playing a role in carbon emissions reduction through road map cooperation with engineering professional organizations in Southeast Asia.

Meanwhile, in terms of the micro engineering step, PII plays an active role in facilitating sharing sessions on similar themes and there is collaboration between PII and Singapore Universities in terms of research into the development of the Solar PV industry in both countries, including industry. semi conductor. This seminar was open to the public, ITEBA students and campuses throughout Batam enthusiastically attended the seminar.
