The Indonesian Engineers Association (PII) held an International Seminar with the theme "Sustainable Industrialization Strategy Towards a Golden Indonesia 2045" in Surabaya, East Java.

Chief Organizer of PII international seminar activities Ir. Sri Hidayati AKP, ST., M.Sc. (PM), IPU, APEC Eng, ASEAN Eng, said that this activity was part of a series of the XXIII 2024 PII Congress which will be held in Yogyakarta.

This activity presents speakers from various countries and industrial sectors, discussing concrete steps that need to be taken to achieve Indonesia's grand vision as a developed country in 2045. "The seminar is a strategic discussion venue, bringing together the views of academics, practitioners and government in building a sustainable future," he said at the Sheraton Hotel Surabaya, Monday, (02/12/2024).

Sri Hidayati explained that this seminar was one of the strategic efforts in realizing sustainable industrialization. "We want to ensure that industrial development in Indonesia not only develops rapidly but is also oriented towards environmental and social sustainability, in line with the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045," he said.

According to him, it is hoped that this seminar can be an important milestone in designing policies and innovations that are adaptive to global challenges.

This activity was attended by more than 300 participants, including professional engineers, government stakeholders and industry players. The discussion panel involved experts from Indonesia and foreign countries. In this international seminar, various seminar discussion forums were also held in parallel which shared experiences in implementing green technology and digitalization to support sustainability.

Apart from that, participants also had the opportunity to take part in a special session discussing the role of the younger generation in creating innovative solutions for Indonesia's future.

This seminar is a forum for strengthening collaboration between the public and private sectors. A memorandum of understanding was also signed between PII and Telkom University in realizing superior human resources (HR).

"With high enthusiasm from various parties, PII is optimistic that this seminar will make a real contribution to the journey towards a Golden Indonesia 2045," explained Sri.

For your information, this PII national seminar will be held for two days (2-3 December 2024) where on 4 December 2024 there will be visits to industries around the East Java region.

"And on the third day there will be an engineering trip to several industries in the East Java region. Next, we will travel to Yogyakarta to take part in the 2024 PII XXIII congress. The issues discussed in this seminar are very relevant for us. "The ultimate objective is to provide recommendations and formulations to the new Indonesian government. We as an Indonesian Engineers Association organization want to provide recommendations and input on the issue of sustainable industrialization strategies in achieving the grand vision of a golden Indonesian nation in 2045," stressed Sri.
