
ITS Inaugurate 248 New PSPPI Program Engineers
The Sepuluh November Institute of Technology (ITS) again inaugurated 248 new engineers through the Engineer Professional Study Program (PSPPI) at the Dyandra Convention Center Surabaya, Saturday (3/5).
This inauguration is a form of ITS in participating in printing superior humans to build towards Indonesia forward.
In his remarks online, ITS Chancellor Prof. Ir Bambang Pramujati ST MSC Eng PHD Ipu Aeng said that the ITS step in participating in the advanced Indonesia is also in line with the contents of the Strategic Plan (Renstra) ITS 2021-2025 namely High Impact on Society and Motto Its Advancan Humanity.
Prof. Bambang, who is also a Professor of ITS Mechanical Engineering, also revealed that engineers are a very important profession in development. These engineers build infrastructure, build industries producing products of the needs of the community, creating transportation tools, creating agricultural tools, and various items needed in human life.
"For this reason, in carrying out his work, engineers must uphold the ethics of illinoids and positive values," explained Bambang reminded.
He hopes that all the learning experiences that have been accepted will be the best provisions to be able to carry out the task of engineers as well as possible and responsible according to the professional code of ethics of engineers.
Prof. Bambang also reminded that the existence of alumni networks is a broad potential to realize the ideals of the Indonesian Engineers Association (PII) in accordance with government laws and regulations.
"Its and PII can continue their cooperation in printing engineers in Indonesia. In order to remain focused on real, productive and constantly having the spirit of building human civilization for the better," he hoped.
In this case, Bambang also said that with the improvement of infrastructure and the development of industry today, the needs of engineers in Indonesia are certainly increasing.
"Therefore, ITS is committed to being able to continue to produce many of the best graduates in the realm of the engineer profession every year," explained the 13th Rector of ITS.
In the inauguration this time, there were 234 people of the 14th generation from the past learning recognition program (RPL) and as many as 14 people from the 3rd batch of regular programs. Of the total 248 people consisting of lecturers and practitioners from various industrial sectors.
Including the results of cooperation from PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) and Bank Mandiri. Overall, until now ITS has contributed to printing an engineer of 1,484 people.
In addition to graduation and inauguration data, it was also conveyed that PSPPI ITS had received new students for the even semester of 2024 - 2025. With 106 RPL Student Data and 23 Regular, there were a total of 129 students. PSPPI ITS Program
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Indonesian Engineers Association (PII) of the East Java Region Dr. Ir Gentur Prihantono Sp SH MT MH Ipu appreciated the ITS steps in realizing this commitment as the right step. According to him, engineers are needed in developing Indonesia.
"Armed with the experience gained from this school, you are expected to be reliable in carrying out various national development projects in the future," said Gentur.
Gentur also reminded the importance of engineers to join the PII organization. "By becoming a member of PII, you will be protected legally, professionally, and ethically," he said.
Finally, Gentur hopes that in the future the newly appointed engineers can have a big impact on national development.
"In accordance with PII jargon so that engineers in Indonesia become competent, professional, responsible, and honest because Indonesian engineers are the spearhead of the nation's progress," he said again.
ITS's commitment to produce quality engineers also supports the realization of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 9 points about industry, innovation, and infrastructure. Namely aims to build solid infrastructure, increase inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and encourage the development of innovation.
