Delegation of the The Institute of Engineers Indonesia Visits Petrokimia Gresik in East Java

The third day of the series of activities of the XXIII PII Congress which took place in Surabaya (East Java) and Yogyakarta 5-6 December 2024.

After two days of PII international seminar activities, on the third day (4 December 2024) seminar participants were invited to visit the Petrokimia Gresik production factory in Gresik, East Java.

The PII delegation was led by the Chairman of the PII Honorary Ethics Council, Ir. Gatut Adisoma, IPM, Director of LSKI PII, Ir. R. Bambang Priatmono, SP., ST., MT., MKN., IPU., ASEAN Eng., ACPE, Ir. H.E Daniyanto Baidlowi Chairman and Treasurer of PII West Sulawesi, Representative of PII East Java, and Chairman of PII Gresik Branch, Awang Djohan Bachtiar and together with other groups from PII National.

The visit of the PII group was warmly welcomed by the Senior Vice President (SPV) for Development and Business Portfolio of PT Petrokimia Gresik, Radia Purnawijaya together with the staff of SPV Petrokimia Gresik.

Radia conveyed a message of apology from the President Director of PT Petrokimia Gresik, Dwi Satriyo Anuurogo, who was unable to attend the location, because he was attending a meeting with the parent company, namely PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero).

Nevertheless, Radia revealed that the PII delegation's visit was very beneficial for Petrokimia Gresik. He added, especially getting inside from PII friends for industrial development in Indonesia, especially in agro-industry.

"The hope is that we can work together, so that government programs regarding food security, industrial downstreaming, then clean industry or green technology can soon be implemented in Indonesia," said Radia to Media Construction, at Wisma Kebomas, Gresik, East Java, Wednesday, (04/12/2024)

He continued, Petrokimia Gresik strongly supports the programs launched by the government for food security. "And we are ready to support fertilizer needs and adapt to Government assignments," he explained.

Pigakya hopes not only for the availability of fertilizer, but also for existing technology. The reason is, Petrokimia Gresik has used smart processing farming technology in the hope of attracting young farmers to get involved in the agricultural industry. So that the food security program launched by the government can be achieved, and the food self-sufficiency program can also be implemented.

Regarding the raw materials, technology and innovation used in the production process, Radia said this was an opportunity for Petrokimia Gresik.

"NPK technology is an advantage for Petrokimia Gresik in the future in the development of its NPK factory. "And we already have a patent for NPK products," he added.

"We have prepared technological readiness to support government programs," he continued.

For this reason, currently Petrokimia Gresik has 36 factories with a production capacity of 11 million tons per year, and in the future this will be further increased.

"We continue to develop because we have new projects and in the future Petrokimia will grow again," he added.

It doesn't stop there, Radia explained, Petrokimia Gresik has also distributed to Southeast Asia and South Asia (India). Of course Petrokimia Gresik plans to increase the number of distributions.
