FT UNM Inaugurated 39 graduates of Profesional Engineers Program

The Faculty of Engineering (FT) of Makassar State University (UNM) held a friendly activity of graduates and taking the engineers of engineers at the Claro Hotel, Tuesday (5/27/2025).

This event became an important moment for 39 graduates of the FT UNM Engineers Professional Program (Study Program) who officially held an engineer title in the May 2025 period.

This is the second time the PPI FT UNM study program has graduated alumni, marking on a sustainable commitment in printing professional engineers who are ready to contribute to national development.

The event was opened by the Vice Rector III of UNM, Dr. Arifin Mangau, S.Pd., M.Pd., who represented the Chancellor. In his remarks, he conveyed the pride of UNM to graduates who were ready to compete in the global arena, but still rested on local values.

"The title of engineer that you clothing today is not only a sign of academic success, but a symbol of professional responsibility to build the nation with integrity, innovation, and social care," he said.

The oath procession was led by the Secretary of the Indonesian Engineers Association (PII) of the South Sulawesi Region, Dr. Eng. Ir. Muhammad Rusman, S.T., M.T., IPM., ASEAN Eng. He asserted that this spill was not just a formality, but a form of commitment in carrying out the profession with integrity and professionalism.

He hopes that graduates can make a real contribution to the development and progress of the Indonesian people, especially in the South Sulawesi region.

"I hope you can all carry out this mandate well, and be an example for the younger generation to come. Let's work together to improve the quality of education and development in our area." He explained.

Dean of the Faculty of Engineering UNM, represented by Plh Dean/Deputy Dean I Mr. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rais, S.Pd., M.P., M.T. Expressing pride for the achievements of graduates. PPI Study Program graduated 39 graduates consisting of 17 regular pathways for class I and 22 people of RPL Batch II.

Among the graduates there are three professors namely Prof. Dr. Ir. Darlan Sidik, M.Pd., Prof. Drs. Ir. Syukri Nyompa, S.H., M.Sc., Ph.D., and Prof. Dr. Ir. GUFRAN DARMA DIRAWAN, S.T., M.EMD. and Director of Polimarim Dr. Ir. H. Amrin, S.E., S.T., M.M., M.AP. Graduates are practitioners and academics who come not only from South Sulawesi, but come from other provinces in Indonesia.

"The title of engineer adds opportunities for alumni to collaborate to develop themselves, contribute significantly to the community, nation and synergize with the business world, open access and new networks and strengthen the old network to superior competitive human resources," he said.

"Taking the second oath is a form of the existence of engineer professional development at the Faculty of Engineering UNM. This shows our commitment in providing the best services for students, especially PPI Study Programs." he added.

Furthermore, Chairman of the PPI FT UNM Study Program, Ir. Muhammad Farid, S.Pd., M.T., Ph.D., ASEAN Eng. also congratulating the alumni of the PPI FT UNM Study Program who has completed the Professional Engineer Program.

It is hoped that PPI graduates continue to work and increase competence to become professional engineers both at national and international levels.

"Thank you to the Chancellor, Dean, PII Chair, University Leaders and Faculty of Engineering, Industrial Partners, PPI Study Program Lecturers, and UNM Academic Communities who have provided support to us can deliver the PPI FT UNM study program alumni for May 2025," he said.

"So that the total number of alumni of 54 people. God willing, we will open the 4th generation registration until July 1525 through the page https://dlist-ppi.unm.ac.id/. Salam Engineer," he concluded.
