Deputy Chairperson of PII accepted his position as Temporary Official (Acting) Rector of the Indonesian Institute of Technology (ITI)

The Indonesian Institute of Technology (ITI) held a joint opening event which was also a moment of handover of the Chancellor's position, at the G building hall, ITI campus. The event was attended by various important figures, including Prof. Dr. Ir. Agus Taufik Mulyono, ST, MT, Asean Eng., IPU, who is the Deputy Chairperson of the Insititute of Engineers Indonesia (PII), Dr. Ir. Teguh Haryono, MBA, Ipu, Acpe, Asean Eng., As Secretary General PII, Ir. Rully Chairul Azwar, IPU, as Chairman of the Indonesian Technology Development Foundation (YPTI), and Dr. Ir. Heru Dewanto, M.Sc (Eng), IPU, Acpe, APEC Eng., As Chairperson of YPTI Management.

The important moment in this event was the signing of the Minutes of the Handover of Position (BAST) between Dr. Ir. Marzan Aziz Iskandar, IPU, ASEAN Eng., Rector of ITI for the 2020-2025 period, to Prof. Dr. Ir. Syopiansyah Putra Jaya, M.Sc, as the Provisional Officer (PJS) of ITI Rector. The signing was witnessed by the Chairperson of the YPTI Supervisory Board and the Chairperson of the YPTI Management, who also signed the BAST document as part of the official administrative process for the handover of the position. In addition, a procession of submitting a responsibility report (LPJ) from the ITI Rector for the 2020-2025 period to the Acting Rector of ITI, which indicated the transition of leadership in ITI.

On this occasion, also given a memento from ITI to Dr. Ir. Marzan Aziz Iskandar as a form of appreciation for his dedication and leadership while serving as the Chancellor of ITI. In addition, also given a memento of the ITI alumni represented by Mr. Sakwanto, as the Chairperson of the Indonesian Institute of Technology Alumni Association (IA-IA) for the 2025-2028 period.

In his remarks, Dr. Heru Dewanto, Chairperson of YPTI Management, expressed high appreciation to Dr. Marzan for his dedication and extraordinary contribution in leading ITI. He expressed his pride in the achievements that ITI had achieved under Marzan's leadership. Dr. Dewanto also congratulated Prof. Syopiansyah Putra Jaya, Alumni of the ITI Industrial Engineering Study Program, which is now appointed as the Provisional Officer (Acting) of ITI Rector. He hopes that the Chancellor's Acting Authorities will be given sufficient authority to carry out their duties effectively, including in improving management policies and management, to ensure the continuity and progress of ITI in the future.

dr. Ir. Marzan Aziz Iskandar, Ipu., ASEAN Eng (Chancellor of the 2020-2025 Period), who just ended his term of office as the Chancellor of ITI, expressed his gratitude to the entire academic community for the support given during his leadership period. On the occasion, Marzan explained several achievements successfully achieved during his term of office, including the Platinum Winner Private College Platinum Award with the Most Innovative Learning Method in 2023, Award Charter as a Silver Winner Private Higher Education Accredited very well (B) with the best academic quality of 2023, and award charter as a private university with the best partnership or the best cooperation in 2023.

In addition, ITI also managed to obtain clusterization in an independent cluster, a category that was only owned by 51 universities in Indonesia out of a total of 4,523 existing universities. This achievement further strengthened the position of ITI among leading universities in Indonesia, which are generally owned by state universities and several large private universities such as Binus and Atmajaya University.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Syopiansyah Putra Jaya (PJS. ITI Rector) who is an alumni of the ITI Industrial Engineering Study Program as well as the first alumni of ITI served as the temporary official of the ITI Rector and currently serves as Deputy Chairperson of the PII PII for the Development of the Professional Engineer and Development of the Sustainable Professional, also gave a speech with enthusiasm. He expressed his commitment to continue the struggle and maintain the quality of education in ITI. One of the programs that will be carried is the provision of 200 scholarships to prospective students, the results of which will be used to support prospective quality students in order to continue their studies at ITI. This program is expected to strengthen ITI's image as a superior tertiary institution and expand opportunities for more individuals to participate in the advancement of science and technology in Indonesia.

The joint opening event was closed with a joint prayer followed by a warmth event that was full of warmth among the ITI academic community, including leaders, lecturers, education staff (tendik), alumni, and invited guests. This activity is a symbol of togetherness and collective spirit in welcoming changes in leadership and new steps that are expected to bring ITI in a more advanced and successful direction.
