The East Java Provincial Government (Pemprov Jatim) encourages the Indonesian Engineers Association (PII) to provide industrialization policy recommendations. This step was taken to support the realization of Golden Indonesia 2045.

Acting East Java Governor Adhy Karyono hopes that the PII seminar will produce concrete strategies. "We want strong recommendations to support sustainable industrialization," he said after opening the International Seminar, Monday (2/12/2024).

Adhy added that this seminar involved academics, universities and professional engineers. "The seminar theme is very appropriate, connecting sustainable industrialization with the synergy of education and the engineering profession," he added.

The General Chair of PII, Danis Hidayat Sumadilaga, said that the role of Indonesian engineers is increasingly vital in the era of globalization. "We want to build engineering capabilities that are relevant nationally and internationally," he said.

According to Danis, Indonesian engineers face complex challenges in the digital era. PII is committed to increasing professional capacity to be able to compete in the global world.

The seminar with the theme "Sustainable Industrialization Strategy Towards a Golden Indonesia 2045" took place at the Hotel Sheraton Surabaya. This event was attended by experts and practitioners from within and outside the country.

This seminar discusses the challenges and opportunities of environmentally friendly and efficient technology-based industrialization. The East Java Provincial Government hopes that the results of the discussions will provide strategic guidance for sustainable development.

Apart from seminars, PII also held the XXIII Congress in Yogyakarta as part of a series of events. After the seminar ends, the group of engineers will travel together to the congress.

"This congress is a strategic forum to determine the direction for the development of the engineering profession," added Danis. This event is expected to strengthen collaboration between sectors in supporting sustainable industrialization.
